## 💬 Messaging

The **Messaging** section covers everything OkupAI does with guest communication:

* **Automatic Messages** — templates and rules that send booking confirmations, check-in instructions, door codes, and review requests without you lifting a finger
* **Live Messaging** — the unified inbox for chatting with guests across Airbnb, Booking.com, WhatsApp, SMS, and Email, with AI-drafted replies
* **WhatsApp Overlay** — manage WhatsApp templates and view recent message statuses directly in the platform
* **Communication Channels** — how each channel is connected and what it can send

Start with **Automatic Messages** — a good template set answers most guest questions before they are asked, and the inbox stays quiet.
{% endhint %}

### 📱 WhatsApp Template Enhancements

The WhatsApp template display and interaction have been enhanced for better usability:

* **Template Display**: You can now see a preview of the message content directly in the template list. This helps you quickly identify the right template.
* **Interactive Rows**: Click or press Enter/Space on a template row to view and edit the template details. This makes navigation more intuitive and efficient.

These improvements make managing your WhatsApp templates more streamlined and user-friendly.

### 📞 SMS Channel Requirement

To enable SMS as a communication channel, you must have an active messaging phone number. This phone number must be set as the default and not revoked. Ensure your phone number is active and properly configured to use SMS for guest communication.
