# Stripe

Collect payments from your guests — payment links, city tax, and extra services.

## 💳 Stripe

The Stripe integration lets you collect card payments directly from guests: payment links for direct bookings, city tax, early check-ins, and any extra service you want to charge. Payouts go to your own Stripe account — OkupAI never holds your money.

## ⚙️ Setting up Stripe

Open the **Integrations** card on the [Properties page](/okupai-platform/properties-and-platforms/property-settings.md) and open **Stripe**.

### 1️⃣ Create or connect an account

Under **Add a Stripe account**:

* Choose the **Country** of the account (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, or United States)
* Choose the **Business type** — **Private person** or **Business**
* Click **Create account**

This creates a real **Stripe Connect** account. The country **cannot be changed** after creation — double-check it.

### 2️⃣ Complete Stripe onboarding

After creating the account, OkupAI shows **Stripe onboarding link ready**. Open the link — or send it to the property owner — to enter the legal and payout details directly with Stripe.

Each account in the list shows a live status:

* 🟢 **Active** — onboarding complete, the account can receive payments
* 🟡 **Pending** — onboarding not finished yet
* 🔴 **Needs attention** — Stripe needs more information; use **Manage in Stripe** to resolve it

### 3️⃣ Assign properties to accounts

In the **Objects & Stripe accounts** table, assign each of your units to a Stripe account:

* Use the search field and the **All accounts** filter to find things quickly
* Reassign a unit at any time; choose **No Stripe account** to unlink it

A unit **without an assigned Stripe account cannot generate payment links**. Assign an account to every unit you want to collect payments for.

## 💶 What you can collect

Once a unit is assigned to an **Active** account:

* **Payment links for direct bookings** — when [creating a direct booking](/okupai-platform/calendar/add-a-new-direct-booking.md) with **Stripe** as payment method, tick **Generate a Stripe payment link** and send the checkout link to your guest
* **Ad-hoc charges** — from the **Stripe Transactions** section of [Booking Details](/okupai-platform/calendar/booking-details.md), click **New payment link**, enter a description and amount (pet fee, fresh sheets, late checkout, city tax, …), and send the link
* On the calendar, direct bookings paid via Stripe show their payment state (**Payment paid** / **Payment unpaid**), so you spot open payments at a glance

## 💡 Getting the most out of Stripe

* **One account per owner.** If you manage properties for several owners, create one Stripe account per owner and assign their units to it — each owner gets their payouts directly, and you can filter the table by account.
* **Finish onboarding immediately.** Until the status is **Active**, no payments can be collected. Send owners their onboarding link right after creating the account.
* **Combine with instant invoicing.** For direct bookings, generate the payment link and the invoice in one step — the guest pays online and gets the PDF invoice without any manual work. See [Add a New Direct Booking](/okupai-platform/calendar/add-a-new-direct-booking.md).
* **Use ad-hoc links instead of cash.** Anything you'd charge on-site — early check-in, parking, damages — can be a payment link in the guest chat, with the transaction tracked on the booking.
